Google purchased the observatory satellite images firm with U.S. $ 500 million

SAN FRANCISCO: Google today announced their plans to buy satellite firms, Skybox Imaging worth of U.S. $ 500 million to increase the number of services related to mapping and geographic data.

"We agree to buy Skybox Imaging, and we welcome them to join together with Google," Google said in a statement.

"The satellite will help them accurately mapping with the latest images.

"Even in the long term, we hope Skybox team and technology will help improve Internet access and disaster relief – the sector that attracts Google to venture into," the statement said.

Meanwhile, Skybox in his blog post said, the company's five-year-old is to offer a 'revolution of information access in every change in the earth.

"We have build and launch a satellite observation with high-resolution images of the smallest in the world to collect the beautiful images and videos that useful every day," he said.

The news follows the announcement of Google, the last two months regarding the purchase negotiations of Titan Aerospace, a maker of aircraft control using solar energy to enhance the ability of internet excess in the remote areas.

Google is also implementing Loon Project, the use of a giant ball to emit a signal in the areas that do not have internet connectivity.
