Strong winds and rough seas warning

KUALA LUMPUR: Blowing winds and rough seas (first category) in the waters of Langkawi, Perlis, Kedah, Penang and the West Coast and Kudat in Sabah is expected to continue until Sunday.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department said in a statement today, the wind with a speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour (km / h) and waves up to 3.5 meters is dangerous to small boats, recreational activities and sea sports.

According to the statement, thunderstorms were forecast in the waters of Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Johor, Pahang and Miri until early tomorrow morning.

Meanwhile, the weather is also expected to hit the coast of Phuket, Northern Straits of Malacca, Samui, Condore, Reef North, Layang-layang and Pahlawan are expected to continue until Sunday.

Wind expected rife between 40 to 50 km / h and waves up to 3.5 meters and dangerous to shipping and coastal activities including fishing and ferry services in the affected areas.
