Kuala Lumpur: Consumers, who are being fooled by Ramadan buffet promotion for pay higher than promotions, can make a complaint to the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry (Ministry).
Minister, Datuk Hasan Malek, said consumers are entitled to services commensurate with the price paid, thus avoiding getting fooled by any irresponsible promotions.
He also warned the owners of restaurants and hotels to not confusing users with various promotional offers buffet, otherwise put the hidden charge with high price.
"Ministry does not have the right to monitor all the restaurants and hotels that offer Ramadan buffet packages, otherwise the consumers should make intelligent choices.
"We will act on the complaints of consumers who feel cheated by the promotion buffet and possible hidden charges prices that are too high," he told yesterday.
The newspaper reported yesterday that most of the leading hotel buffet charge prices between RM80 to RM140 for adults and RM30 to RM49 for children, covering more than 100 kinds of dishes.
