Oil pipeline burning in China, 20,000 evacuated

BEIJING: Leaking of oil pipelines in Dalian city was on fire, but no deaths or injuries reported so far.

According to the China National Petroleum Corporation, the pipeline may be damaged by construction and oil burned for 25 minutes before it was extinguished.

The state-owned companies said, around 20,000 people have been evacuated.

China suffered a series of accidents involving oil pipeline leak.

In June 2013 a fire due to leakage of the fuel tank in Dalian killed four people while an explosion due to leakage of oil pipeline in November last year in the port city of Qingdao, east of the country killed 62 lives.
